NaNo Day 2, DONE

Another NaNo day gone by, and I've reached 12,116 words. No, I didn't punch out another 10,000 today. The scene I was working on was particularly difficult, and I just wasn't focusing as well as yesterday. I finally finished the scene though, and tomorrow, my goal is 5,000 words, which will push me to almost the halfway point. I may even push for 8,000 just to get myself over that 20K hump, but for the sake of my sanity and my fingers, I'm not going to try to beat my standing record of words in a single day (somewhere around 26K).

So far, so good as far as the story goes. The characters are mostly cooperating, though my male lead seems to have a mind of his own about some things. But for the most part, it's coming along at a decent clip. My internal naysayer is starting to chew threw the gag, ready to doubt and depress me into throwing in the towel, but I am hellbent on getting through NaNo without quitting, without stopping to edit, and without falling short.

I will do it.

I will reach 50K.
