Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh. My. God.

I submitted a query and synopsis of "Camera Shy" last week. They said I would have an answer within 45 days.

This morning?

Partial manuscript request.

For those not of the writerly persuasion, this means they liked my synopsis and want to read the first 3 chapters or 60 pages of the manuscript. If they like that much, they'll request the rest of it. If they like that, they may actually...publish it.

*dies again*

I'm trying not to get my hopes up here, but I know I will. And either way, even if they reject it after reading the first 60, I still got this far with my first attempt.

So. Freaking. Excited. Can't. Speak. Can't. Breathe.

Now I need to go tidy up my first 60 pages so that they're somewhat presentable, at which time I will convince myself of how badly it sucks, fret over it, freak out, send it anyway, realize I missed something, then not be able to draw a normal breath until I get a "yay" or "nay".

I love being a writer. :D

  1. You may have a large bucket of Shanlove for one night only.

  2. Awesome, They should send out a bottle of Prozac with those request though

  3. Nonsense:

    Valium with the partial/full requests.

Save the Prozac for the rejections.
