I submitted a query and synopsis of "Camera Shy" last week. They said I would have an answer within 45 days.
This morning?
Partial manuscript request.
*dies*
For those not of the writerly persuasion, this means they liked my synopsis and want to read the first 3 chapters or 60 pages of the manuscript. If they like that much, they'll request the rest of it. If they like that, they may actually...publish it.
*dies again*
I'm trying not to get my hopes up here, but I know I will. And either way, even if they reject it after reading the first 60, I still got this far with my first attempt.
So. Freaking. Excited. Can't. Speak. Can't. Breathe.
Now I need to go tidy up my first 60 pages so that they're somewhat presentable, at which time I will convince myself of how badly it sucks, fret over it, freak out, send it anyway, realize I missed something, then not be able to draw a normal breath until I get a "yay" or "nay".
I love being a writer. :D
