Well, that was pleasant.

I haven't had a migraine in...hell...a while. The last one I can remember off the top of my head (so to speak) resulted in calling in sick from my customer service job, so it's been at least a year or so. I've had enough in my life, though, that I should have recognized the symptoms yesterday morning. When my eyes won't focus easily, it's time to go sit in a quiet dark room and wait for the storm to pass. But did I notice? Noooo. Wasn't paying attention. Thought I was just tired. Needed to keep writing.

It wasn't until the pain started...well, that's not true. It's not really "pain" at that point. Kind of a "pre-pain" odd sensation like I'm cringing, knowing the pain is about to start, but can't really feel it yet. If you don't know what I'm talking happy. Anyway, once that started, I knew I was in for a pleasant evening.

I think that migraines are actually listed in the Geneva Conventions as cruel and unusual punishment. I mean, seriously, if they want to get info out of the folks at Gitmo, screw waterboarding: Give them a migraine, make them watch Spongebob in a room full of screaming children and strobe lights, then say, "Okay, either talk, or it's Skull Party Time again." I guarantee that they would not only tell you where to find bin Laden, but probably Amelia Earhart, Lord Lucan, and Jimmy Hoffa.

It finally got to the lethargic, must-sleep stage this afternoon, so the kitties and I took a nap, and I woke up feeling a hell of a lot better. It's been about 30 hours since the whole thing started, and it's finally passed into the hangover stage. Thank God it's not going to be another 2, 3, or 4 day headache binge...those are just downright mean.

So I'm feeling human again. I'm tired as hell, still can't see straight, but the worst is over. By tomorrow morning, I'll be able to focus, and thus, write more disgusting fiction.

If I never have another migraine again, it'll be too soon.
