Trashing the Dress: Part Deux

We dragged Meghan out again today, and decided to truly trash the dress. We went to the beach, where the water was swimming pool comfortable, the sun was shining, and it was an all-around fantastically gorgeous day...pretty much a typical day here in Okinawa.

At the end of the day:
Eddie? Tired. Annoyed because a crab pinched him. Mildly sunburned.
Meghan? Tired as hell.
Me: Tired. Sunburned. Itching like hell because a sea urchin zapped me.
The dress? Trashed.

Now, let me preface this by saying that the whole idea of "trash the dress" (which was inspired by - but I am completely unaffiliated with - trashthedress.com) is not to destroy a wedding dress just for the hell of it. The idea is that when you abandon the need to keep the dress completely clean and unblemished, you can get some really wicked cool photos that are more natural, elegant, and sexy than a stilted portrait. If the dress does get trashed? Oh well. If it doesn't? No problem.

The end result is supposed to be some striking images, something a bit out of the ordinary. And hell: It's fun. So...why not?

Indeed...why not?

So here they are...the results of playing on the beach (and on the rocks, and in a cave, and on the breakwater) in a wedding dress:

  1. Yay again!

LOVE that pic of Meghan flicking her hair.

The first pic is a fave, too.

Well done to the both of you! ;-)

  2. I thought that too, about the one where she's flicking her wet hair.

Also, the one immediately before that is beautiful.

  3. Wow... She looks like a princess that washed up on the beach. Beautiful and tragic; the only survivor of a terrible shipwreck during a storm at sea.
