Screw it.

This has happened several times. I finish a project that takes a lot out of me (and oh boy, does Cover Me qualify), and end up flitting from project to project for a few weeks until I settle on something. Everything wants attention, nothing wants to cooperate, and nothing gets done. I don't know why I do this, but I do.

Right now, three books are vying for my attention. A fourth has already been shoved to the back burner. They're all demanding to be written, but I just haven't been able to focus enough to work on any of them.

Clearly, there's only one solution.

Time to start something new.

Yes, something new. I don't usually like to start a new project while I'm already having a hard time finishing anything, but sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered to get my head back in the game. So today, I used my trusty "throw a bunch of pictures into Photoshop and ask the people to tell me their story" method. The result? A story I am currently outlining, and one that Scarlett the Title Ninja has dubbed - in a stroke of utter genius, given how fucking perfect this title is - Light Switch. It's the perfect title. Seriously. I'm banging my head against the wall wondering how it eluded me. Fortunately, I have a genius at my disposal, so she thought of it for me.

Anyway, hopefully this will be enough to revive the creative hamsters and get them running on their wheels again. I shall tinker with the outline a bit more tonight, then finish it tomorrow. And soon, my loyal blog minions, Light Switch will begin. This will probably give me just enough time to do some decent research for Through a Glass Darkly, too, so hopefully I can knock that one out next. Or at least soon.

So, back to outlining, then off to bed. And to show my gratitude for Scarlett bestowing upon me such a huge bucket of titlewin, here is James Purefoy without a shirt:

  2. Hey,
Totally off topic, but I've been trying to buy Next Move and can't get it through you're pub website and don't own a kindle. When is it going to be available for, say, Sony ereader? Do you have any other sites I could try?
