Time to Outline Like a Mofo

Disengaged is done. I have spent a day walking among the fleshpeoples to satisfy my husband's insistence that I maintain some semblance of a social life. NaNo is still three weeks away. What ever is a girl to do?

Clearly, it's time for the Hothouse Weekend. And not a moment too soon, let me tell you. My character waiting room is getting obscenely crowded, and one idea that I've been toying with for months has been picking up steam lately. The characters do not want to STFU.

They're especially vocal after yesterday. While my husband was trapped in the car with me with no escape short of throwing himself from the moving vehicle, I picked his brain about a few things, and thanks to him, figured out the major plot point upon which the entire story will hinge. This takes the book in a very different direction than I anticipated, but at least so far, I think it will work.

So now I just need to finish outlining the book and working out the finger points. That story, Until Proven Guilty, will most likely be my NaNo project.

I need to write something between now and NaNo, though, and I think I've settled on a novella, but I'm still plotting that one out. And there's always a chance one of these other ideas will jump to the front of the line and decide it needs to be written first.

Just looking at my folders of potential stories, I've got enough to keep me writing until the world ends in 2012 or the robot revolution in 2020.

So...*cracks knuckles*...the hothouse weekend begins...NOW.

  1. The only way to stop the world ending is to write filth. It says so here, in, er...

    The Book of Daniel.
