So it's been four solid days of zero productivity. Holiday crap, some personal drama, followed by my first ever ocular migraine. I've had migraines before, but not this kind. Upshot? Not nearly as painful as the "normal" variety. Downside? I'm not a big fan of hallucinations and visual disturbances.
But, it's over now, so it's back in the saddle today. It's a safe bet I will not be hitting 150,000 for NaNo, unless I can somehow figure out how to write 15,000 words a day for three days. Not gonna happen, I'm afraid.
And since there hasn't been a lot going on, I will just have to regale you all with a few fine specimens of mancandy...
Robert Downey Jr, shirtless, as he always should be...
Kevin McKidd, who made it into the mancandy files by getting it on with James Purefoy in Bedrooms & Hallways and by being arguably smexy in Rome...
Sam Worthington, just because...
And one of my new favorite pics of Shannon Leto...
There. Mancandy, your humble bloggerist back in the land of the living, and the world is as it should be. Back to writing with me...

Mmmm... Robert Downey Jr...
ReplyDeleteBummer about the ocular migraine. :( I get the regular sort of migraines quite regularly - I don't get visual disturbances, but my sense of smell intensifies to a weird degree... which does not help the associated migraine nausea at all.
Mmm, Sam Worthington....om nom nom.
ReplyDeleteLori, I swear, you need to try Relpax. I only take a quarter of a tablet (~3.5mg!) and it stops every type of migraine I ever start to feel coming on. I haven't had one in 5 months now. I used to get them 2-3x every month. I really encourage you to try it, despite your general distain for meds. I hate them too, but there are no side effects for me, and I always get side effects from meds.
Vanessa,
ReplyDeleteI'd actually get some to have around, just in case, but getting something like that from military doctors? I'd be as well asking them for crack. They're stingy as hell with anything that isn't Motrin.
Fortunately, I only get migraines like 4 or 5 times a year at most, so it's bearable. But I'll keep that stuff in mind.
